Bronze: 50 yards legal freestyle and backstroke
Silver: 200 yards legal freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke – butterfly kick proficient – knowledge of turns and diving
Gold: 200 yards legal IM
"How do I know if my child is ready for swim team?" - If your child can swim 50 yards (2 laps or double the length of the YMCA swim test) consecutively without stopping, can swim Freestyle and Backstroke proficently/legally, and is ready to begin swimming Breaststroke and Butterfly, then swim team is the place for them!
"How can my child join the swim team?" - Set up a time for an evaluation with one of our coaches! If your child can meet the above requirements, they can jump on in for practice that day. If not, no problem. Our coaches can offer advice on what level swim lesson will best meet their needs to get them on the team as soon as possible!
"How do I sign up for a swim evaluation to see if my child is ready for swim team?" - Send an email to [email protected] to get your date and time set up. We normally plan them for just before, or after our practices.
