General Information
The Stingrays swim team purpose is to offer swimmers in the Sumner County area the opportunity to develop and enhance their swimming ability, learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, and enable them to participate in a sport they love.
The Stingrays swim team is an active year-round member in a league with all surrounding Middle Tennessee YMCAs. Each YMCA league swim meet is held at Pearl Cohn High School. Stingray team members may also participate in local USA swim meets.
Attending every practice is not mandatory. However, please keep in mind the more practices you attend, the more opportunity your swimmer has to improve. Also, with more time spent in the water, the coaches will become more familiar with your swimmer, along with his/her needs.
- Ages: 6-18 (must pass base swimming evaluation with a Stingrays coach)
- Cost (Monthly): $90/members, $115/non-members
- Practice dates: Monday-Thursday
- Practice times: choose one for the month based on coaches recommended skill level
- Any Skill Level (9-9:45am outdoor pool - summer only)
- Bronze only (4:30-5:15pm)
- Silver/Gold only (5:15-6:00pm)
Bronze: 50 yards legal freestyle and backstroke
Silver: 200 yards legal freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke – butterfly kick proficient – knowledge of turns and diving
Gold: 200 yards legal IM
